Decorex 2019 Highlights

Exquisite materials, innovative design, captivating colour and heaps of creative inspiration – Decorex, the UK’s leading trade show for interior design, never fails to disappoint and this year was no exception. Our team spent a thrilling couple of days exploring everything that the show had to offer at its new location, Kensington Olympia. These are some of our highlights:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Elegantly combining history and modernity, DUISTT is in constant pursuit of perfection and the collection displayed at this year’s Decorex was sublime. From a unique angular sofa, to a beautiful coffee table duo crafted from sleek glossy mahogany and cane weave, we can’t wait to see these pieces form the centrepiece of a glamorous living space.

Coralie Beauchamp

Whilst innovation within decorative lighting is commonplace, it’s rare to discover something as unique and captivating as Coralie Beauchamp’s collection of exquisite fibreglass and carbon braid pendants and lamps. We were drawn to the geometric beauty and sculptural form of these pieces, perhaps not surprising given Coralie’s background working for Lanvin couture in Paris. Exceptional pieces that would illuminate the finest of spaces.

Handmade in Scotland, Faolchu’s pieces are an ode to exceptional craftsmanship. As luxury design is increasingly copied and replicated, timeless and distinguished pieces such as Faolchu’s beautiful hardwood coffee table will increasingly be sought after by discerning clientele. Each piece of wood that Faolchu utilises in its work has been hand selected for its distinctive and unique characteristics.
Using traditional methods that enhance the grain and figure of the wood the team painstakingly work with natural oils and waxes to maintain a natural and beautifully tactile design – simply stunning.

Jennifer Manners

We adore the aesthetic of Jennifer Manners rugs but were thrilled to learn that her new collection has been crafted from recycled plastic. Having spent months developing a plastic yarn that is as soft and durable as traditional materials, it’s a welcome accolade from the industry that Jennifer was the recipient of this year’s ‘Best Sustainable Product’ at Decorex. Even better the team informed us that the rugs can be cleaned with diluted bleach – practical and beautiful – a perfect combination!

O’Hare and D’Jafer

Seeking out new and innovative finishes is one of the biggest thrills of visiting a show such as Decorex and we were delighted to spend time with the team at O’Hare and D’Jafer who create the most sublime materials from marquetry, woven and moulded leather. The illustrated ‘Gustav’ weave is hand woven marine quality leather that has been gilded with an intricate interlocking knot pattern. A statement finish that would drive impact in any scheme.

Villi Zanini

Villi Zanini have been hand crafting the finest panels, gates and balustrades in wrought iron since 1655 and it was wonderful to view some of their work in detail at this year’s show. With an almost unlimited capability to bring any design to life, we were particularly drawn to this geometric brass room divider. Functional and decorative, this piece exudes refined elegance and like so many pieces at this year’s show is so exceptionally made by master artisans that it will surely stand the test of many years to come.
